The Scottish Child Psychotherapy Trust

Did you know that the Scottish Child Psychotherapy Trust became independent of the Child Psychotherapy Trust in London in April 2000? Our new leaflet is being printed at the moment and will be available shortly at the SIHR in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Our aim continues to be to:
-Increase access to appropriate child psychotherapy inside and outside the NHS -Fund scholarship to individuals undertaking the child psychotherapy training
-Fund training and seminars for other professionals working with children to broaden their understanding of psychotherapeutic work with children
-Fund projects undertaken by child psychotherapists which increase the understanding of CPT and child development
-Support the development in Scotland of centres of excellence offering training in therapeutic work with children
-Raise awareness among parents and others in contact with children of the emotional development of children.
-Promote public understanding of the principles of child and adolescent psychotherapy
-Inform influential groups and individuals both inside and outside the NHS and related public sector agencies of the need for funded CPT posts.
